Platis Gialos beach is a continuation of
Makris Gialos beach. It’s less than a kilometre from
Lassi and is a fantastic sandy beach.
Platis Gialos is set in a gorgeous bay, surrounded by pine trees, sheer rock faces and vegetation, it has beautiful soft golden sand and transparent water. You’ll find a beach bar, showers and sun loungers with umbrellas all available on the beach.
The only possible downside is that there’s no water sports vendors on Platis Gialos beach, there is a volleyball net for the more active beach goers and water sports are available on neighbouring Makris Gialos beach.
As Platis Gialos is close to Lassi, and Lassi is one of the most popular resorts on the island, you can be sure that the beach will be popular throughout the summer months. Particular given it’s small size.
The car parking fills up early in peak times so head to the beach straight after breakfast to avoid having to park further away and walk to the beach, getting there early also means you’ll get one of the premium front row sun loungers too.
