Limenaria is a sand and pebble beach on the south coast of
Thassos, as you might have guessed it’s in the town of
Limenaria, just west of the port.
As Limenaria is one of the more popular towns on Thassos so is the beach. It has tightly packed in sun loungers covering most of the sand, particularly at the east end closest to the town. There’s also a wealth of tavernas lining the rear of the beach so you have your pick for lunch, snacks or drinks.
The beach is narrow, just 20m in some places but it’s over a kilometre long so if you enjoy walking along the sea front then this is a good place to visit, it also means you can get away from the crowded town end of the beach and enjoy a level of peace and quiet at the other end.
There’s parking available at the rear of the beach and in the roads that surround the area but most of the people visiting Limenaria beach will be those staying in the town itself as it’s easily walkable.
