Papalimani is a narrow beach on the north coast of
Thassos, just 3km west of the islands capital
Limenas.
Although Papalimani beach is quite narrow, just 10m in places, there’s still some good amenities including sun loungers with umbrellas as well luxury wooden group loungers which are nice to share with your partner or family. There’s also a great beach bar that serves food and drinks all day.
The beach itself is just over 100m long and mainly sand underfoot. There’s trees behind the beach in some sections of the beach and these can be used for shelter during the hottest parts of the day. There’s a wooden jetty that’s often used as a springboard into the sea. At the rear of the beach there’s a stone wall that holds back the trees and hillside, this is also where you’ll find the taverna and means when you sit there having a meal or a drink you get a nice view of the area.
Papalimani beach is a good option for families as the entrance to the sea is shallow meaning they can safely play in the water and the fact it’s so small means you can always keep an eye on little ones.
Papalimani is easy to get to as it’s well signposted and right off the main road that leads from Limenas to
Skala Rachoni, there’s ample parking by the taverna behind the beach.
