Kazaviti is a beautiful village set on the mountain slopes of
Thassos island, it’s around 22km from the capital
Limenas which would take you roughly 30 minutes in a car.
As it’s up in the mountains it offers spectacular views of the island and the Aegean sea, just watch out for those winding roads that lead up to the village, particularly if you’re driving at night.
Kazaviti is actually divided in to two smaller villages, Small (Mikro) Kazaviti and Big (Megalo) Kazaviti. These regions are also known as Mikro Prinos and Megalo Prinos but they’re only a few hundred metres apart so can easily be considered as one village.
There are a few cafes, tavernas and some rooms for rent in Kazaviti but it’s not a big tourist destination so probably better suited to a day trip than a base for your holiday. Eating in one of the restaurants with a view is particularly enjoyable, especially as the sun sets.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kazaviti page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
The nightlife in Kazaviti is based around the handful of tavernas, it'll consist of getting a nice meal and having a few drinks. There's no clubs or late night bars so you can't go out and party all night long but if you're looking for a peaceful environment to watch the sun go down then it's ideal.
Kazaviti is not too far from the north west coast, the closest towns being
Prions and the beach village of
Skala Prinos. If you're coming from somewhere else on the island then you can visit all 3 in a day. There's not much else in the region so if you want to stay here you'll probably want some transport so you can get around the island to see the sights.
