Skala beach is a massive beach that is both long and deep, it’s surrounded by Pine trees and is mainly sand and shingle. You’ll find Skala beach on the edge of
Skala town right down at the bottom of
Kefalonia island.
There are a few tavernas along this stretch of coast where you can get food and drink during the long days spent taking in the gorgeous weather. Water sports are available in several locations along Skala beach meaning you can keep teens happy with banana boats, jet skis and many more adrenaline fuelled activities.
With Skala being a popular resort for package holidays and the beach just a short walk from town it’s easy to head back in to town where there are dozens of restaurants, shops, bars and everything else that you’d expect to find in a lively tourist town making Skala the perfect place for a weeks holiday.
The downside of Skala being such a popular resort is that you’ll find there is always a lot of people on the beach, no matter what time of the season you book your holiday for, the good thing is that as the beach is huge it never feels over crowded.
If you prefer a quieter day at the beach then your best bet is to aim for the western end of the beach, out towards
Katelios, here you’ll find it gets quieter and more sandy. Just be aware this is also where you may find a few naturists.
