The Saint Theodoroi Lighthouse, also known as Fanari Lighthouse is found on the northern tip of the Argostoli peninsular in
Kefalonia.
Saint Theodoroi Lighthouse is a circular structure with 20 columns that stands 8m tall. It was built in 1828 by Charles Napier on a man-made peninsular, just off the coastal road between
Lassi and
Argostoli.
Unfortunately the original lighthouse was destroyed by the 1953 earthquake, it was rebuilt to the original plans in 1960 by a local architect called Takis Pavlatos.
Many people enjoy walking the coastal road, particularly if you are staying in Lassi and want to enjoy the night life of Argostoli, you can arrive at the lighthouse for sunset or even relax with meal at
Katavothres and watch the sun go down from there, Katavothres is just east of the Saint Theodoroi Lighthouse. If you decide to do this walk it’ll likely take you just over an hour.
