Kolios beach is located on the north west corner of the Kalamaki peninsular which is down on the south coast of Skiathos island. It’s around 7km from the capital, to drive that would take 10-15 minutes.
Kolios is a coarse sand beach with a single taverna that is not always open, there’s a couple of rows of sun loungers around the taverna but plenty of space left open for those that don’t want a sun lounger. It’s a good beach for kids as they can play in the shallows or in the sand, older kids might get bored though.
The beach can get busy when an island tour boat stops off for an hour or two, the rest of the time it’s one of the more low key beaches on Skiathos island. There are no water sports but if that’s your thing and you’re staying in Kolios then you can head to nearby
Agia Paraskevi beach that does have water sports. There is a boat rental shop on Kolios beach so you can rent a small boat to explore the region at your own pace.
To get to Kolios, get the bus, jump off at stop 15 and walk towards the town about 100 meters and you’ll see the lane leading down to Kolios beach on your right. You can also get off at stop 14 and walk the opposite direction but it’s a bit further. If you’re arriving by car then you’ll find a small car park at the rear of the beach.
