Vassilias beach is roughly half way between
Skiathos Town and the Kalamaki peninsular and a short walk from bus stop 8. You can drive and park in the small area behind the northern end of the beach, there’s also road side parking and a large parking area opposite the Kassandra Bay Hotel where the bus stop is.
Vassilias is a narrow beach that’s well organised with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, a beach taverna and a huge array of water sports including water skiing, rings, wake boarding, canoes and boat hire as well as other rides and activities. Check out
Stefanos Ski School for details.
Under foot is mainly sand with a few stones here and there. Natural shade is provided by the trees that border the rear of the beach and the entrance to the sea isn’t too steep so it’s perfect for families with kids of all ages.
Due to the fact that there’s a huge hotel and spa right behind the beach you’ll find it popular at all times, particularly the southern end close to the hotel. As you head north past the water sports vendor and away from the hotel it gets a lot quieter, at this end of Vassilias beach you can easily find a bit of space to call your own and enjoy the lovely views from over to
Tsougria island.
