Kallirachi is on the west side of
Thassos island, it’s around 26 km from the capital
Limenas which would take about half an hour in the car.
Kallirachi is a quiet village that has narrow cobbled streets and beautiful houses built from Thassos stone with terracotta roofs. The village has a tranquil, relaxed environment which makes for a lovely afternoon wandering around.
There are a number of villas or apartments available but not many hotels and only one taverna. You wont find any tourist shops and nothing in the way of night time entertainment. All this means is it’s probably not somewhere that the majority of people would want to stay but some will love it.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kallirachi page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
With Kallirachi being a small traditional village and only having a handful of tavernas you can probably guess that the nightlife is minimal. You can have a meal and a few drinks but that's about it. Definitely don't expect any night clubs or all night party venues.
The areas around Kallirachi are ideal for long walks, there’s a small church up the hillside that you can walk to from the village. Just remember to take supplies with you as there’s nothing available en-route. If you do visit the church you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views where you can see for miles.
As Kallirachi is inland there are no beaches within walking distance but you are not far from
Skala Kallirachis beach,
Skala Sotiros beach and even
Skala Maries beach. All 3 are within 15 minutes in a car.
