Xechoriatis beach, otherwise known as Old Alykanas beach or even Xhoriati beach is on the north east coast of
Zakynthos (Zante) between
Alykanas beach and
Amoudi beach. It’s around 16km from the islands capital
Zakynthos Town and that would usually take about 25 minutes to drive.
The tree lined Xechoriatis beach is sandy with a handful of sun loungers but no taverna on the beach itself and no water sports. There is a taverna above the beach which is accessible via a set of stone steps, it has great reviews for it’s food and the views from the seating area are superb.
The beach is around 200m long but incredibly narrow, just a couple of metres in places. Kids will enjoy playing in the sand and the water stays shallow so they can splash about safely. Adults will enjoy the peace and quiet that you get on Xechoriatis beach.
To get to Xechoriatis beach aim for the village of
Alykanas and then east towards the coast and you’ll find it. There’s not much in the way of parking but you can leave the car at the roadside and walk the last few metres. Alternatively, there are some apartments and villas to hire in the area so you could base yourself here and enjoy the beach regularly throughout your stay.
