The small resort of Agios Gordios is on the west coast of
Corfu and is in a great location for both the airport and the main town of
Kerkyra, both are about 45 minutes on the bus that runs daily or just over 20 minutes in a hire car or taxi.
The village is surrounded by Olive groves, mountains and the golden sand
Agios Gordios beach that has sun loungers to hire, water sports to keep visitors entertained and at least half a dozen tavernas along the beach front to get some delicious lunch and keep you refreshed on the long hot days at the beach.
There are plenty of hotels and apartments available with varying costs to suit all budgets. There’s also a wealth of other tourist facilities like bars, restaurants, tavernas and supermarkets so it’s the perfect spot for a package holiday as everything you need is readily available. There’s even vehicle hire outlets and a couple of ATMs too.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Agios Gordios page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
Night life in Agios Gordios is relatively low key, as with most Greek towns it centres around your evening meal with drinks rather than party venues or clubs.
That being said, there are a few cocktail bars that stay open late with delicious drinks and good entertainment so party animals can be kept pretty happy.
For those that like a slightly slower pace, there’s Greek nights with dancing and traditional music which are always good fun and for those that like to sing you can find the odd karaoke night too, check with your hotel as venues and nights change regularly.
Agios Gordios is a good starting destination if you want to visit any of
Kaisers Throne, The
Corfu Golf Club or
Aqualand water park as all are around 20 minutes away. You also have the option of heading south towards Lake Korission and Gardiki Castle as well as north east towards the capital where you’ll find loads to keep you busy.
With it’s fairly central location you can visit both the northern villages and sites as well as those in the south, you’ll find almost anywhere on the island is within about an hours reach by car so if you want to visit as much of the island as possible then Agios Gordios could be a great option for you.
