Skala Kallirachi is on the west coast of
Thassos around 25 minutes from the islands capital
Limenas and a bit less to
Limenaria which you can get to in under 20 minutes so it’s no problem to visit from either.
Skala Kallirachi is a harbour and fishing village with great views over the Aegean sea, on a clear day you can even see the mainland from here. It’s a quiet village that’s not been taken over by tourists, despite that there is plenty of shops, tavernas and restaurants and a good amount of hotels too.
So if you want to get away from the mass tourism of the main resorts then Skala Kallirachi is a good choice.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Skala Kallirachi page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
The nightlife is based around watching the sunset and having a few drinks with your evening meal, there’s no clubs, bars, karaoke or anything like that.
In general the people that visit Skala Kallirachi are those that want a quieter and more traditional Greek holiday rather than people who want to party so if that's you great, otherwise look elsewhere.
The beaches of Skala Kallirachi are not among the best that Thassos has to offer but there are a number of good beaches in the area. Take a look at
Atspas beach on the south west corner of the island or
Pachis beach up in the north west. Both will be about a 15 minute drive but if you're willing to go a bit further there's even more to see. Take a look at the
Thassos beaches page for more.
There's not much in the area for sight seeing you can take the half an hours drive towards the centre of the island to visit the abandoned old village of
Kastro. Alternatively head up to Limenas where you have the
Ancient Agora, the
Acropolis of Thassos and much more.
