Skala Potamia, sometimes also known as Chrisi Akti is based at the southern end of Golden beach on the east coast of Thassos, it’s a short 20 minute drive from the islands capital Limenas.

Skala Potamia shares a lot of similarities with it’s northern neighbour Skala Panagia. Both are based around the ever popular Golden beach and both are ideal for a family beach holiday. The other great thing is that you can easily walk between the two and see what both has to offer.

There’s no shortage of hotels in Skala Potamia, it’s got small family run apartments as well as larger hotel complexes, there’s places with beach views and cheaper in land options too.

On top of this there's everything you could possibly need from supermarkets, bakeries and other shops to vehicle hire businesses and an ATM too.

Some would criticise Skala Potamia as it’s a new and growing resort so lacks that traditional Greek charm that people love. If that’s what you’re looking for then try somewhere else, If, however you’re looking for a package holiday around a superb sandy beach then you could do a lot worse than Skala Potamia.

Skala Potamia has a wealth of tavernas and restaurants to choose from for your meals and to keep you entertained in the evenings.

You can often find bars with music and cocktails as well as Greek themed nights with dancing. Just don’t expect late night clubs so teenagers may find it a little tame for them, everyone else should find something that suits their needs.

With Skala Potamia being based around one of the best beaches on the island you wont have to look far for somewhere to build sandcastles, there's plenty of tavernas and other amenities on the beach too so you can happily spend all day there.

If you are willing to travel then head to Limenas, this is where you'll find the Acropolis of Thassos, the Ancient Agora and the Archaeological Museum as well as some of the best bars and restaurants on the island.
