Lepeda beach is situated just south of
Lixouri in the Paliki peninsular of
Kefalonia. It’s directly across from the capital
Argostoli but getting there is either a ferry ride or an hours drive.
Lepeda beach boasts a natural shallow pool area that’s perfect for kids to play in, the sand is soft and has an unusual red colour, the water is crystal clear and great for snorkelling. There’s also views out over the Gulf of Argostoli where you can see
Fanari lighthouse and
Mount Aenos.
There’s a taverna in the middle of the beach where you can sit and enjoy a couple of drinks or a nice meal, around the taverna is where you’ll find a handful of sun loungers to hire. There’s often a volleyball net up as well for the more energetic of you but no water sports.
Lepeda is accessible from the main road that runs down from Lixouri and then there’s a short, steep road that leads down to the beach itself. Be sure to follow it all the way down and past the shop to get to the car park.
