Kamari is a beach resort on the east coast of
Santorini, it’s around 15 minutes from the capital and about 10 from the airport so it’s a convenient location whatever your needs.
The downside to Kamari is that it’s not on the caldera side of the island so you’ll have to travel to
Oia,
Fira or one of the other villages on the west coast to experience the spectacular views.
On the other hand It does have arguably the best beach on the island.
Kamari Beach is wide and long boasting tons of amenities like water sports, rows and rows of sun loungers and multiple tavernas to keep you well fed and hydrated.
The village itself has loads of restaurants and a large portion of those are down by the sea front so you’ll get to soak in the views whilst enjoying your meal. There’s no shortage of supermarkets and souvenir shops either and you can rent a car or book an excursion with the travel agents that are dotted about all round Kamari. There’s even a mini golf course for the little ones to enjoy, a dive school to try some scuba diving and an escape room game too.
If you'd like to stay in the area then have a look at the Kamari page of booking.com
here. Alternatively find a great package holiday through Tui
here.
The night life in Kamari is quite varied, as mentioned, there are plenty of restaurants and this is where the majority of families spend their evenings. If you prefer something a little more lively then there are several bars and even a couple of late night clubs to keep you entertained.
If you fancy it you can find live music and karaoke on certain evenings as well as Greek nights with traditional dancing.
Kamari is in a great location, close to the airport which means short transfer times, it’s also close to the archaeological site of
Ancient Thera and is home to the
Open Air Cinema, it’s easy to travel from Kamari to the other towns, villages and attractions of Santorini as it’s fairly central and has excellent public transport links.
